Who We Are

SipScout was founded by Erika Krehbiel and Kayla Powell, two SMU MBA students who set out to build the app they wished existed. Frustrated by outdated menus, scattered information, and guesswork when choosing where to go, they saw an opportunity to make going out smarter, more transparent, and more social.At its core, SipScout is about bringing people together through easy discovery—helping friends decide where to go, helping newcomers explore a city, and helping venues get discovered for what makes them special. Erika and Kayla are passionate about creating tools that serve both sides of the experience: empowering consumers with better information while giving venues a smarter, more effective way to market themselves. Driven by a love for community, hospitality, and connection, SipScout is built to support local businesses, spark shared experiences, and make every outing a little easier—and a lot more fun.
